Atmos Lid

I got this to replace the manual lid which broke twice in the 2 years that I had it. I am liking the electric version so far, but will be extremely disappointed if this has the same short shelf life as the manual.

Got this ATMOS electric lid last week and it added a rather foul, electronic-smelling and tasting (like the beans had been filtered through a circuit board), to an entire canister of fresh whole beans. I had to through out all of the beans. I have been cycling the lid one or more times per day to see if the smell will begin to disappear, but no luck so far.
