Description

Ti, Element #22 Titanium is highly resistant to chemical attack and has the highest strength to weight ratio of any metal. This is a sample of .999 commercially pure, grade 2 titanium in the form of a square periodic table entry. One side shows the simple entry, as seen on classroom walls, showing the atomic number (22), the atomic weight (47.87), the symbol (Ti), and the name (titanium). On the other side is a more complete entry providing additional technical information including the melting point, density, purity, electron configuration and sample weight of the sample. On the right hand side is the circular Bohr model of the atom. • 1 inch or 2.5 cm width If we take an example weight of 9 grams, convert that to moles, and multiply by Avogadro’s number, you’re getting an astounding 11.3222 × 1022, or 11 octilion titanium atoms! Now that’s value!

I bought both the plain and colored Ti bullion pieces. They are smaller than I expected, but their compactness plus the quality with which they are made makes them cool little display pieces. I have lots of Titanium ... stuff, and these look cool on the shelf making the point that it is all the genuine element.

This has been a great gift for my metalhead friends and a fun tile to hold. I share the sentiments of the first reviewer. Ben: perhaps you're already envisioning a full series of these? By "full series" I mean a collection of all that are financially, physically, safely, and legally feasible. So basically just a pocketful of periodic elements.

I mounted this in my shop over the stock shelf where I keep the titanium. I'd love to see some in iron, aluminum, etc..
