Description

Jim Franklin was sometimes referred to as the "Michelangelo of armadillo art". Jim was an ever-present force in the Austin music scene during the 60s and early 70s, helping start the original Vulcan Gas Company, and then creating poster art for the Armadillo World Headquarters, a new venue which he also co-founded and managed. The Armadillo World Headquarters helped usher a new movement into Austin and brought the likes of hippies and cowboys together, bringing about some of the most influential music in American history. Cotton Sweatshirts were first used as athletic garments in the 1920s and 30s and always featured full length ribknit cuffs and hems, and V-shaped inserts in the neckline. The Wythe Sweatshirt stays true to these details, and adds a subtle curve into the V insert (lovingly called "Doritos" by some vintage aficionados) that gracefully matches the curve of the neckline. Our crewneck sweatshirt has been a Wythe staple from the very beginning and was one of our earliest products. White we really loved the slimmer, athletic fit of our original sweatshirts, we figured we'd listen to the overwhelming majority of feedback. This new sweatshirt fit features a tighter neckline, roomier sleeves, and removed shoulder seams. • V (aka dorito) on front and back • Longer hemlines and cuffs • Set-in sleeve • Heather Grey color is based on authentic examples of 1950s US sportswear • Adjusted fit now allows you to take your normal t-shirt size • Knit, cut, sewn, and washed in Portugal • Screen printed in Brooklyn
