Inspired by the iconic French Varappe-style climbing shoe — the rugged footwear that found its way onto the feet of every dirtbag climber in Yosemite Valley and laid the groundwork for modern climbing shoes — the El Cap Boots pay tribute to that legacy while reimagining it for everyday life. We started by developing a custom last with modern footing to make them comfortable for everyday wear. The upper is crafted from premium leather with a soft leather lining and insole for all-day comfort and a break-in that only gets better over time. To boost durability where it counts, we reinforced the toe, heel, and mudguard with rubberized leather, echoing the rugged protection of classic outdoor footwear.
