REPLICA ON-FIELD BASEBALL SWEATERS JUST LIKE HOW THEY WORE IT History: Seattle was granted an American League expansion franchise in 1977 to compensate them for the loss of the Pilots in 1970. The M’s adopted the royal blue and gold color scheme of the departed Pilots and moved into the brand-new Kingdome south of downtown, sharing the facility with the NFL’s new Seahawks franchise. The M’s finished 64-98, exactly replicating the Pilots’ record from their only season. M’s fans would have to wait until 1995 to see the team win its first division title. When we released our first collection of shawl-collar MLB sweaters, we were delighted with the response. Of course, one common reaction was “Where’s my team?” Of course, as the shawl collar sweaters were worn on-field only into the early 1930s, our original selections were limited to the original sixteen clubs.
