Description

A Golden Moon of Rivendell • 1.25 in (3.17 cm) diameter at the longest points. This unique crescent moon coin comes from Rivendell (Imladris in Sindarin), during the rule of Elrond™. It depicts the Rivendell valley, flanked by waterfalls, containing the ancient trees of silver and gold and the three Silmarils, represented as stars. On the reverse, the Sindarin text inscribed in Tengwar reads, “Elrond Halfelven, Lord of Rivendell and of the Last Homely House East of the Sea, 2941”. TA 2941 is the year that Thorin Oakenshield™ and company meet Elrond at Rivendell before continuing on to The Lonely Mountain. The coins are struck in varying metals to distinguish their denominations. The Copper Moon is the smallest denomination, followed by the Silver Moon, and the Golden Moon. The Mithril Moon is the largest denomination, worth ten times as much as the Golden Moon. Coin artwork designed by Dylan Craig and engraved by Woody Maringer. Learn more about our artists.

This piece is absolutely beautiful. So well crafted, a stunning design' it had to be crafted in Middle Earth. Thank you for creating it.

Love the colour, the patina and the fine detail – it’s worth getting this coin first, for the care and scrupulous craftsmanship taken in minting it – the other colours follow naturally as the collection grows, then pendants follow that, but the warm, golden glow of this rich & comforting colour beckoned me first...
