Elk don't grow antler to a spec, and this knife doesn't pretend otherwise. Every handle starts as a naturally shed piece of elk antler, hand-selected down to the eighth of an inch for size, straightness, and condition, then shaped and fit flush against a brass bolster that's been individually machined to match its own tang — flush enough that no hard edge catches a working finger during extended use. The grain runs pale to deep chocolate depending on the piece, and no two ever come out the same. That's not a compromise — it's the closest thing to a one-of-one this line makes. If you're buying for someone who already has one of everything, this is the one they don't. The butt of the handle is cut at a 45° angle instead of left square. That angled cut takes the bulk out of the grip so it doesn't feel blocky in hand, without changing the front of the handle where your fingers actually grip. The design is built toward ambidextrous use, consistent with the rest of the New West lineup.
