Aloha 100th Infantry 1942 Cotton Twill Ballcap

Description

BREATHABLE COTTON BALLCAP HONORING THE 1942 "ALOHA" 100TH INFANTRY History: The 100th Infantry team consisted of Japanese-American players from Hawaii. After the Empire of Japan attacked Pearl Harbor, the U.S. government rounded up Japanese-American citizens and sent them to internment camps. However, the soldiers of the 100th infantry were granted an opportunity to “prove their patriotism.” But rather than allow them to stay in Hawaii, they were sent to Camp McCoy in Wisconsin. There they played baseball with other Camp McCoy personnel, but soon founded their own club, which they called the Aloha Team, with an emphasis on their Hawaiian — rather than Japanese — identity. Made from soft yet sturdy cotton twill, this ballcap pays homage to the logo used by the Aloha during their days in Wisconsin and is finished with our signature green satin underbrim.
